David's lifelong interest in art began with
the encouragement of an enthusiastic
elementary school art teacher. Trained in
furniture design and woodworking at the
Rochester Institute of Technology School
for American Craft his education continued
with an independent study at Penland Craft
Center and as assistant to Tage Frid and
Greg Guenther.
David continued to pursue his own
approach to furniture-making and design
with the establishment of his own studio.
His designs are informed by architecture
and ancient objects unrelated to furniture.
His designs have been described as "clean
and evident."
He is a member of the New Hampshire
Furniture Masters Association and on the
board of director's of the
Wentworth-Gardner Tobias Lear House
Association. His work has been exhibited at
the Currier Museum of Art, the New
Hampshire Historic Society, the Lamont
Gallery, Center for Furniture Craftsmanship
and the Boston Design Center.
